Editorial policy

Southern Rugby Journal aims to make rugby easier to read without making it sound simpler than it is. Our editorial work values accuracy, clear context and honest distinctions between explanation, opinion and promotion.

Accuracy and context

We check factual claims against reliable material available to the editorial process and take care with terminology, rules and differences between rugby codes. Where a point depends on context or remains uncertain, we say so. We do not present general explanation as official guidance for a competition or governing body.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for relevance and clarity for readers. A partner relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable view or control over editorial conclusions. Promotional material is kept distinct from independent editorial work.

Corrections

Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific, supportable concerns and amend material when warranted, making the change clear where it affects a reader’s understanding.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, sponsored or partner-supported material is clearly identified as such, and partner placements are labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; they are illustrative, not evidence of a match, person or event.
