Write for us

Southern Rugby Journal welcomes pitches that make a lasting part of rugby easier to understand or notice. We are interested in clear, original work for curious readers, not match reports that depend on the news cycle.

What to pitch

Propose an article about matchcraft, laws, positions, traditions or grounds. A strong idea has a clear reader question, a distinct angle and a reason it is useful beyond one result. Explainers, comparisons, well-framed histories and observation-led pieces can all fit.

Make the proposal specific

Send a working title, a short summary of the central idea, the intended reader and a note on how you would handle accuracy and context. Mention relevant experience only if it helps explain your approach; do not assume specialist credentials are required.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Please do not send a full draft unless one has been requested. A pitch is not a promise of publication, and response times may vary.
